Just as with anything there are natural cycles of breaking down (destruction) and building up (regeneration). If a balance is not maintained there comes a point of no return where further emphasis on the destructive element leads to a depletion of energy followed by decline and eventually death. When someone is already in a weakened state they are needing support of their regenerative cycle in order to maintain balance and thrive. And if there is further support of the destructive cycle this will drive the imbalance deeper making it more difficult to correct.
I have observed many 'healers' and teachers who do not honor the natural rhythm of the client or student and instead attempt to alter them to match their own. Such an unnatural force creates an energetic disruption for the recipient that may indeed be experienced as a sort of violence against them. Generally this is also a reflection of an imbalance existing within the 'healer' or teacher and which usually goes unchallenged. The result of this can lead to a very destructive relationship that is detrimental to both parties. It fosters neither healing or learning, and in it's extreme form it is abusive and sadistic. Too often this is rationalized by that 'healer' or teacher as being 'good' for the client or student when in actuality it is fulfilling a distorted need of their own. Whether it is as subtle as the unsolicited advice and slightly aggressive language or as obvious as outright physical abuse, the same energetic dynamic is at play.
