oh, and by the way

The term "slap upside the head" is a joke. It's virtual. It's like saying..."wake up and smell the coffee".

I won't even spank my son. I was very clear about that all his life, and told him so. I abhor violence.

And when he was 12, and we were out at lunch and he was being horrible. I mean, pushing Mom's buttons to the max. Then he said something unforgivable to Mom.

So I told him, I want to slap you across the face. His comment was, well if you do, and all these people see, they will call Child Protective Services. My comment was, I'll take you to the car where no one can see us, and I'll slap the shit out of you.

His comment to that was....gee Mom, you said you would never, ever hit me, no matter how bad I acted (said with major attitude and a mocking tone).

So I sat there collecting myself. Saying to myself, I love my child, I love my child....I love......

My last comment to him was...yes, Mom promised she would never, ever strike you. But, Daddy didn't.

Let's just say he was very good until Dad got home that evening. In fact lunch turned out pretty fun after that.
