Thuuuuursday - regression!

some questions in my mind about how to work this out

Well today I messed up pretty bad. :-( Ah well. I'm much better in my head about messing up so I would think this is progress in terms of the Law of Attraction philosophy. Ah, but I've gained weight in the past month. Ultimately I want to lose. Some philosophies talk about sugar addiction but I don't buy that it's a completely physical addiction. Ikk, I dunno but I feel like I'm off track, I'm past due anyway for doing an MC (I usually do the Master Cleanse quarterly and I did it in December). I'd love to start now but I have a friend coming out in a few days so I'm thinking I'll do a few days to get off the bad eating kick, be off while my friend is out here, then do a full MC. I've been getting a little uncomfortable with the weight gain b/c I'm not fitting into all the clothes I like and that I've been getting used to. :-( The MC will get me on track with that as well.

I understand that for permanent change I need to change how I think about food. Even though I'm all on my lonesome, I did do well for the few days there. One of the 4 golden rules of eating says eat what you want but only when your body is hungry. I'm struggling with that one - sometimes eating what I want is so good that I've thrown the second part of that statement away. It was just supposed to be temporary but it didn't work out that way and I think that's because how I think about food that makes me want to stuff myself even once is likely the problem. Learning to be content with a taste of my favorite treat and not going beyond pleasantly satisfied ... if I can do that, I think then I would be eating like (and looking like) a skinny person. One of the rules is to allow yourself those "bad things" and even Law of Attraction states you can have health and slenderness eating whatever, it is the thought of things being bad that gives you problems. I'm thinking I don't totally believe that although there is an influence of the mind on the body. The rules state to eat what you want so you don't feel deprived, but to practice not being overfull and listening to your body. I think my body would mostly want healthy foods, but some people who are on these forums and who are super healthy go on and on about not eating anything bad. People talk about what they eat like this:

I eat mostly fruits and veggies with some fresh fish and organic dairy.

People that eat ONLY that and that strictly and never cheat... is that how slender people eat? Are they really that disciplined? I know you have to eat better than the masses not to look/feel like the masses, but to that degree?

As you can see, some questions in my mind about how to work this out. I don't think it is either feasible or necessary for me to be that strict and have what I want, but I do think that I should likely employ more restriction on what I eat, even if I am listening to my body to guide me. I know some healthy people's taste buds have changed. Mine probably have a little. Anyway, tomorrow, first day of a 3 day MC fast, then we'll see what happens.
