Anger 18 y
cultivating the patience within
Anger is a strong emotion which comes up often as the body releases on the Master
Cleanse. Sometimes we know what or who we are angry with. Often awareness of anger
comes only when reflection on the path which brought us to the condition we find
ourselves in currently.
Many times, we have been conditioned since childhood to eat to celebrate, or to
soothe ourselves and to ”eat or stuff” our anger. Since eating is necessary,
unless you have adapted to a breathtarian lifestyle, we need to teach ourselves
to control the quality and quantity of food we ingest so that we find balan ... read more
Day 10 18 y
celebrating the absurd
Day 10 was an UP-DOWN day for me. It started out as a lazy, hazy, hot sunny day, and almost quiet. Like a robot, I went through all the motions of my daily Master Cleanse routine as if I had done it a million times. I felt almost like I was sleep-walking! I did my body-brushing, SWF, cleaned, fed birds, watered the garden, wheatgrass, dogs, cats, made lemonade, used my bounce chair, used my chi machine, lifted weights, and settled down to cruise the news of the day online. Sat on the throne and meditated, kept going and going, time and time again...ggg.
Then came my wake-up call. E ... read more
Create Clear Intentions 18 y
Manifest Your Desires
I have begun to notice some resistance in myself to keeping up with the Master Cleanse. I had come into this cleanse not feeling 100% passionate about it, but still knowing that it was part of my plan to make improvements in my health. So, for me, the challenge is to manifest the motivation to stick with the program and open to the changes I know this kind of shift facilitates.
Today I am beginning my emotional self-improvement with this article from Marcie Hunt on Manifesting. I want to manifest motivation and willpower and most important, the intent that not matter how much my m ... read more
Day 9 18 y
was fine
I woke up on day 9 feeling fine and as my energy rose like sap in a maple tree...ggg...I wanted to get out and venture to the big city of Houston. I decided to forego the SWF and just do the tea so spending so much time hovering over the toilet would not be an issue.
I have only been to town twice since beginning my fast and so it was curious to listen to my thoughts as they reminded me, oh, there is Smoothie King, there is the Jamba Juice bar, there is Los Cucos! Jeez, even the IHOP and TGIF called out to me. I craved the sight and texture of food and love hearing the voices of people ... read more

Proclamation 18 y
of 1863
In my research, I came across numerous proclamations which indicated that in our relatively recent past, fasting and prayer were sanctioned and encouraged by the United States government. Amazingly, in 1863, Lincoln signed a resolution which asked the entire nation to commit to a day of fasting and prayer. Other states, at different times, would implore their constituents, regardless of religious affiliation to fast and pray.
It made me reflect on our government and the state of our nation and how with hindsight, we slowly but surely abolished a powerful tradition which served to keep u ... read more
Day 8 18 y
blah blah woof woof
woof...I am just dog tired today. Its hot and I am more than tired of sitting on the throne. Read half the book I bought yesterday, Bragg’s book on Apple Cider Vinegar. I have a copy in storage but found another and know it is a book everyone would do well to have in their home health library since Apple Cider Vinegar can be used for so many reasons.

Life is a Journey 18 y
not the destination
Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself to others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.
Don’t let life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live up all the days of your life.
Don’t give up when you still have something left to give,

The Tao of Maple Syrup 18 y
life is sweet
The Master Cleanse drink contains Maple Syrup as a source of nutrition. Pure maple syrup is used. Maple syrup comes in different grades, with the darkest grade being the most dense nutritionally. It has a strong sweet taste and is the preferred grade, Grade B, when making the lemonade. I also add a little to my laxative tea for a taste treat, and a spoonful if I feel I need extra energy. I use Now Brand Organic Maple Syrup specifically because some maple syrup is filtered using formaldehyde, so an organic label is important to me.
Here is an article which describes the hea ... read more
The Invitation 18 y
by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
My inspirational poem for the day....
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed

Day 7 18 y
going hunting
I am going to town today, on a book hunt. I cut my teeth on a fasting book in the 70’s, called ”Rational Fasting”, by Arnold Ehret. I found a list of the top booksellers on fasting and will check out our local bookstores, since it is a safe bet to stay away from grocery stores and restaurants. I am also hunting up some MORE chocolate Smooth Move, and 3 bags of lemons which may do me well into next week.
I am totally amazed at how great I feel. None of the outrageous detoxing of my first long fast, so it makes me feel that my efforts these past months to cycle between cleansing and rebui ... read more
The Healing Crisis 18 y
going with the flow
The Master Cleanse will stimulate detoxing. Depending on your level of toxicity, the symptoms may range from mild to severe. This is a normal reaction to the work your body is doing to slough off the layers of old fecal debris.
Below is an article which helps understand the healing crisis.

Day 6 on 6-6-06 18 y
an omen??
oh my...ggg...hope its not an omen!
Things here, going good-great, Aunt Flo is packing her bags so I will feel better without her company. Been zapping whenever I am at the computer. Enjoying doing research since I come across so many interesting sites. Feel like a blood hound sniffing out specific info but I come across some neat stuff...meanwhile, killing critters in my gut with my zapper too.
Took the foot bath I recommended to someone onboard. THAT felt sooo good. Paid more attention to my water intake so was not dehydrated like the day before.

Inspiration 18 y
by Robin Quivers
Robin Quivers doesn’t mind when people comment on her 70-lb. weight loss. Just don’t ask her if she’s had ”that operation” - i.e., gastric bypass surgery. ”That’s the most insulting thing,” says Quivers, the long-running sidekick to shock jock Howard Stern. In fact, ”I beg people not to have an operation!” she says. ”They’re never going to enjoy eating again.”
Yet, if surgery seems extreme, Quivers’s own weight-loss method seems nearly as drastic. The 51-year-old radio personality credits the controversial Master Cleanser fast - which can involve weeks of ingesting nothing except ... read more
Day 5 18 y
Hearts Alive!
Good Morning Fellow Fasters!
Today looks promising and I woke up after a night of wonderful dreams. Unfortunately, they were sucked down my dream drain before I hooked them to remember. All I remember is they made me feel good and my eyes opened and the feeling was still there. The sun coming up every morning wakes me. My room has windows on three sides and I really enjoy having the outside be such a part of my life. On the side where my computer is, I can sit and 10-15 feet away is a birdbath which is visited often by birds AND dogs. Mostly birds I am familiar with, bluejays, lot ... read more
Reflections 18 y
Day 4
Today I got a lesson on ”going with the flow”. Circumstances found me in my comfort zone and being less than comfortable. If you need to know why, read my blog entry, Calibration! As my day progressed, I was kept busy with my own agenda and yet my body’s healing agenda kept bringing me back to the task of ”releasing” and going with *the flow*. I finally got quiet and thought about the conflict between what I was doing and what I wanted to do. It brought to mind a quote by Heraclitus, ”No man ever steps in the same river twice, for its not the same river, and he’s not the same man.”. This ... read more

Multi-tasking on the Master Cleanse
Did you ever have one ot those moments when company’s coming so you are trying to do two or three things at a time? This morning has been like that. I did not even get my Salt Water Flush sipped at a snail’s pace luxury over news online. I chugged the bottle and was running, put the garden on to soak, disassembled bird cages for cleaning, fed, watered birds, fed and watered dogs, watered wheatgrass, lettuce, parsley, and all this to music blaring, dug out from a bin of older stuff...Bob Dylan, Blowin’ in the Wind...easier to multi-task when you know the words and can hoo along with Bob.
