I would say the most important tip for a plant-based diet to be successful is to be sure you’re getting enough calories. The biggest reason I’ve found as to why a lot of people fail on plant-based diets is they are simply under-eating. The second reason is eating too much fat and not enough carbs. You can always add leafy greens with bananas and make green smoothies if you’re worried about not getting enough greens, but usually people aren’t getting enough fruit because fruit has been vilified. Yes, I agree that water fasting will cause faster detox than juice fasting. But most of us are so toxic that too rapid of a detox could cause illness or even kill us. I really like Arnold Ehret’s books in this regard. He explains how important it is to be extremely careful when fasting and how the process varies greatly from one person to another. Most vegetarians eat unbalanced diets just like most meat eaters. Of course those with a higher quality diet will have fewer health issues - but that has nothing to do with being vegetarian or not. Hi Tasha, What an interesting journey from veganism to a more balanced approach. I am vegetarian, mostly, but am starting to add animal fats to my diet. I do eat eggs, though. In my case, my blood type is A, which means my body handles best a mostly vegetarian diet. So I won’t be adding red meat to my diet any time soon. My health improved a lot by eliminating red meat. I do want to add back fish, though, if I knew of good uncontaminated source.
