I asked to be referred to a consultant, which is my right if the General Practitioner (GP) can not resolve the problem. I can make a case that since the thyroid is an endocrine gland, meaning ductless, and that according to Moritz it will detoxify through the lymphatic system and then through bile and or kidneys, and that if your liver is plugged up, then it makes perfect sense that stimulating a plugged up liver with olive oil will result in your symptoms. I would recommend that you get your thyroid function tested if you can. There is a link between low thyroid functioning and gallbladder problems The lack of a thyroxine which is the result of low thyroid (AKA Hypothyroidism) decreases liver function. This changes to the bile, making it thick and saturated, and impairs it by slowing its rate of flow. Hair loss and depression is also associated with low thyroid. The main point of doing the prep for the liver flush is to stimulate the liver function. Pectin increases the amount of bile that is expelled in your stools and therefore forces the liver to increase the amount of bile it produces.Peas, green beans, sweet potatoes and tomatoes are a good source of pectin. This information is absolutely incorrect. Epsom salts are in no way similar in effect as oil. The only purpose of epsom salts in the liver flush is to help dilate the biliary tree and common bile duct so that stones move out with more ease. Some people use epsom salts during a gallbladder attack because the gallbladder is already contracting and it works because it provides extra dilation to let stones pass. That said, there is no harm in just taking epsom salt, just don’t be surprised when tadaaa, nothing happens.   [End]

I suppose you could try any cold-pressed oil. Probably any will work. People have used flax or others successfully. The only study that I know of showed that specifically cold-pressed high oleic (olive) oil resulted in the strongest gallbladder contractions. Yeah, you can try that. Epsom salts have the same effect on the liver as oil... it stimulates production of bile and stimulates gallbladder to empty itself. It may not be exactly identical as the flush with oil, cause when you flush with oil, your body may also absorb some of the oil, so the oil may get into the liver and may actually have an effect on the liver that is very different than just epsom salts, but if you absolutely do not want oil, you can at least try it without oil. There are a number of things you can do. First, it’s normal to have that gagging sensation on the first flushes, or even after you do a lot of them. Something simple you can do to overcome this is first chew on a piece of ginger right before drinking the oil. Another thing you can do is to deeply inhale the smell to acclimate youe body to what’s ahead. You might find that you gag on the first smell but not subsequent ones. I have thyroid issues due to living a sedentary lifestyle and barely leaving my computer desk. I have had intermittent fatigue and it has been difficult to pin exactly the triggers and hard to know when exactly I can rely on my energy at different points in the day. Excellent posting. I like that you didn’t fall prey to the common traps of having to follow only one diet. Another beet juice success story. Milk thistle is excellent but possibly coriander seed herb powder could be better, and also an herb called guduchi. If you find yourself ready to try more fats at some point perhaps try avocado on an empty stomach. Or something like 1 teaspoon of a good quality olive oil (not so easy to find due to rampant fraud). OK, first of all I included candida and SIBO in the forums posted to, because I thought I suffered both for years and tried approaching things at that angle. In my specific case I now believe the main underlying problem is a combination of liver damage/ fatty liver (high liver enzymes + high triglycerides & cholesterol on blood work) and leaky gut. While both those factors contributed to over growth of bad bacteria, focusing on the bad bacteria was definitely a symptom based approach I wouldn’t personally recommend. Well, I agree that we are different, but we are made with same principals of nature as four legged animals. Both an elephant and horses are non-ruminant animals. Just like us they also digest foods with gut bacteria. Point here was not to worry about protein needs as much as pushed in western part of the world, and give in to eating heavy meats and processed foods. Also we get protein from all living plants. HJ, Thank you for posting your experience. A great evidence that fasting does reset your mind and body so it does not crave for p ocessed junk. Most people fail when they are told that you have to have protein and people give into eating heavy meats. All plant life has protein in it. 4 days later! Hi guys! I hope you’re all well! Things have been going good so far, I’m feeling on top of the world. I’m having zero cravings for rubbish food and my will power is solid, having being situationally tested a few times already.
