My son has encopresis (soiling) which began with constipation last summer. He has been on miralax for 7 months now, and doing quite well (only an occasional accident). Every time we go to wean him from the miralax, his soiling accidents increase. My son is 8 and has had problems for the past 2.5 years with pooping on the potty. I have the exact problem. I have stabbing pain in my left side the whole way through to my kidneys. My lower back kills me. I also get pain in my legs a lot. This has been going on for months. They sent me for a test for Diverticulitus but it was negative. I have no fever, still have an appetite, doesn’t get worse with any specific type of food that I eat. Hi Sarah, Just a little tip about the bum being red and very sore...hemroide cream works wonders and will take the sting and reddness out. It works great! Whenever I make food for my cats, I use quite a bit of garlic, and they have never had a problem with it. Also, you can buy garlic and brewers yeast tablets for pets at a natural food store. I give these to my cats every day, they love them and there has never been any problem at all. Garlic is a good antibacterial and antiparasital agent.
