Wombat,
>>>Uny, I'm not going to further address the personal differences we all have had. You know it's true, I know it's true, anyone that might doubt that needs only to look into the archives.<<<
Personal difference (as in personality difference) are the 'rule of thumb' when ANY two people interact. Differences in beliefs & ethics, and the fundamental truths in knowledge/experience levels of what is good or bad for the body is (what I perceive) have been major differences between you & I.
I don't give a 'hooters hoot' about the personality differences. Differences of the basics of health & healing will always cause everybody to want to do & express what each *knows* is correct (based of course, on what each is willing to see) :::sigh::: so be it, and the chips will fall where they may.

Thank you, Wombat. I agree about the 'known then' part...what's frustrating to me is the 'know now' that I have experienced is censored from being heard (or attributed to something it isn't). I'm over it (as far as the VWT forum goes, I have to be now...no matter how much concern or truth I have to share there).
The whole fluoride and cleansing aspect, is of course, a major consideration. No matter how badly/strongly everybody wants to keep attributing my situation to past fluoride intake, it simply was not the root cause. I've done more research on fluoride, fluoride detox, and fluoride effects (probably) than any five lay-people in the world...and my symptoms and reactions were all about the major hormonal swing then the addition of major HPA axis disruption & imbalance which lead to major adrenal distress. My research shows it's a FAR more common occurence than I (or anyone else) could have believed. If you doubt it, go over to the Yahoo forum, sign in, and do a search on "adrenal". There are several people that were thrown into my situation from only DAYS on Iodoral/Lugol's (they just knew enough to not attribute it to detox, fluoride, or they had MD's that prescribed various chemicals to counteract it). My bottom line is easy to understand. I've been so healthy for so long (and I've cured myself of so many major issues -hubby as well) and our diet & lifestyle are now better than ever...I simply couldn't fathom my symptoms being anything but a bit of 'estrogen/receptors' rebalancing themselves and some extra personal stress or some detox.
But I was wrong. The Iodine threw me into first, a massive estrogen loss...and in turn (because I continued taking it when I needed to stop)...brutal adrenal distress (which has some level of thyroid involvement). I've researched it all enough to understand what I need to do to heal myself (and five days into a 'persnickety menu'd juice fast', H202, and a customized blend I created for healing & deep cleansing my digestive tract (malabsorbtion issues are big in adrenal distress)...my hair loss has been virtually reversed and I've had a major reduction in symptoms). I'm a LONG way from totally patched up, but continuing my protocol for the full thirty days is very likely to turn it all around. Sadly for those without my level of knowledge (and self-discipline)...the majority of websites with information on how to heal adrenal distress all call for high protein intake. Oh yeah, that'll calm down the symptoms, but it's the opposite of what it takes to truly heal the situation. Anyway, here's a little blurb I snagged that gives a baseline description of how it may have happened:
>>>it defintely shows how low iodine
can cause a low T3 to adrenals.. and if you think about the
implications of this , you will probably understand how if one is low
on Iodine for life..or many years ..decades say..than a low T3 to
adrenals will cause some changed in there. This means ones adrenals are
not going to be able to dsuddenly take an increase in T3..either
directly fom exogenous thyroid meds..or from Iodine causing an increase
in t3 to adrenals.
from the studies stated , the adrenals seem to be the ONLY organ which
has lowered T3..at least in mild iodine deficiency.. this doesn't hold
as iodine levels are lowered and dficiency is more than mild<<<
Wombat, underlying my frustration (personally and *the forum*) is that I've had detailed email correspondences from THREE other people that have suffered with extreme adrenal stress solely because of iodine supplementation with Lugol's. Like at least two (maybe three) others on the Yahoo group, this occured within the first week of dosing. All of the people that emailed me either tried to express what was happening and were immediately threatened, shut down, or told firmly that it was 'their fault' (either by reason of detox, not be 'cleansed enough', or other body issues that they knew had nothing to do with it). And the *tops* to MY frustration? I was having the same symptoms, but kept taking the Lugol's because I was SURE that *I* couldn't be adversely affecting my adrenals, both because I was in a much healthier state than any of them, and because all my research of all the clinical studies of the iodine docs showed no warnings or concerns for that. It wasn't until almost TWO MONTHS after those emails that I started looking into the possibility of it being more than the obvious estrogen/balance/receptor thing in myself...so I could have helped other people immensely AND prevented further damage to my own body -- had it been allowed to be discussed openly on your forum to it's logical eye-opening conclusion -- had I been willing to believe that a really healthy body could be *that* adversely affected -- and had the clinical research of many of the docs put it all together in print for us to find & read.
Sheesh, with three (four including me) on CZ, and I don't know how many on the Yahoo forum, the numbers are adding up. Of course, the typical MD response is to start throwing all kinds of Rx's at symptoms they don't understand....because it's VERY rare than allopathic medicine even admits there IS such a thing as adrenal distress. So who KNOWS how many people have suffered and been damaged - simply because virtually NO one is willing to address it as a reality.
As far as the initial benefits of the iodine I've lost...it's pretty devastating. I feel like 'Flowers for Algernon' (lol, not so much). When can I start (if ever) supplementing again? I don't know...but I wish I did. Twice in the last two months I taken 1/2 a drop of Lugol's; both time resulted in horrendous *anxiety* within one hour (which is an unbelievably strange feeling, especially when I've never been prone to anxiety at all), and worsening of the hair loss throughout the next day. Last week I ordered some detoxified from Phil, took one drop and thought it might be okay...but a few hours later the 'bizarro anxiety' hit hard again, and the next day I had more hair loss than any day ever. That really made me cry...I really thought the detoxified might 'be the ticket'.
Seriously Wombat, thanks a million for your concern.
Blessings,
Unyquity
