You've never heard of a hormonal imbalance causing hair loss?!? Un-bee-LEEV-able (I don't mean that as an insult, I'm just floored).

Ever hear of how pregnant women's hair becomes incredibly thick, and then they have massive loss after childbirth? hormones.

Hair loss and birth control pills, iuds, Depo shots & patches? hormones

Menopause & hair loss? hormones

Here ya go - over 9,000 hits come up with "hair loss" + "lack of estrogen" (and you can come up with more by usting different variations on the search...especially if you include birth control).

Regarding the source for the other blurb, sign into the Yahoo forum and search on it...you'll find the source is just a poster that 'put it all together'...the thread explains it better. I've already confirmed the premise is quite possible - I was just throwing it out to you so you could see how it might happen - not to prove anything specifically. (I can't 'source' the Yahoo Forum/TOS violation).

My experience was a bit more complex than the little blurb I posted. If you'll look into what an impact various hormone levels have on the adrenals, then you'll see another strong link there to the hair loss...lack of estrogen/hormone imbalance PLUS adrenal stress (BOTH which cause hair loss)...big fat double whammy. And when you add in the the slight hyperthyroid issues (caused by the Iodine AND the disruption to the balanc of the HPA Axix), it's an "easy see". No slam intened to you personally (because I know you're a caring person and truly want to understand ALL aspects of Iodine supplementation)...but it's only an "easy see" to those that aren't bound & determined to defend themselves and Iodine supplementation at all costs, eh? And considering that one of the members of your team HAS the scientific knowledge to EASILY have thrown it all together...it was pretty rough for me seeing the pieces add up clearly and not have any support AND not be allowed to warn others.

'Tis actually no "big threat" to iodine supplementation at all...all one has to do is study the symptoms and be on the look out for the symptoms. Look at you, you have/had the hormonal swing/lack of menses, but because you started slow and worked up gradually, there was never any abrupt alteration that threw much of anything at you but typical detox symptoms (that I recall). I was blindsided, insulted and horrified at the negative response and threats I received when sharing my experiences. Here I was, in on the ground floor, adding as much to the forum as anybody...but my body didn't react right - and when I tried to analyze/learn/warn/explain/share, not only was no 'support' available, but every word I uttered (no matter how carefully I worded them or how hard I tried) were turned into either attacks on me, or a constant barrage of accusations about me trying to disrupt the forum and cause negativity about iodining. When I've attempted to explain/give examples and warn others about what's been happening with my physical state AND with the lack of reception to the truth on the VWT Forum, (not ONLY to me, but I know of at least a dozen other posters that have been 'shut out' for various reasons here)...I was accused of viciously attacking (both V & T) AND iodine (and I recall one lil' snippet from you somewhere along the line accusing me of being 'against' y'all. And now I'm banned for being a liar and unsound/unfit to offer my experiences. I care so very much about others and their health...but I'm sure you can imagine that my inclination is to say 'Phluck 'em all...let the few that suffer like I have, be on THEIR heads if they won't listen to what happened to me, without turning me to some kinds of 'forum b*tch'...I've got enough on my plate as it is.'

But here I am, explaining it all to you (for you to research further) so you can assist others...since I'm no longer allowed the priviledge.

As far as the fluoride being causational, all one had to do was remove the fluoride detox to know that wasn't the case. Give it say, 2-3 weeks with no iodine to dislodge fluoride (and 2-3 weeks for the body to remove from the bloodstream what had been dislodged) - add to that, 15 years on Prozac, no hair loss at all. So if highfluoride serum levels (caused by the iodine detox) were at fault, an absence of fluoride serum levels (caused by NO iodine to cause detox) would have been the cure. Zilch-nada-zero...after 2-3 months of almost zero iodine, the hair was still falling out (and the other symptoms of what I now clearly see were HPA axis disruptions, continued unabated).

I have now lost a full 3/4 of my hair, and cut off several inches. It was glowing copper-auburn and full of life (way past my bra strap in length) and had virtually no grey (since the iodine removed my 'stripe'). My husband has a mid-chest length glorious salt n' pepper beard (my pride & joy) and my hair has always been his. Not only am I devastated personally, but I have to live with knowing that the one aspect that my husband loved best and was most proud of...is virtually destroyed. Yeah, I could cut it short, and it will grown back full (once I heal this thing)...but at 48 years old now and starting to grey, in the 8-10 years it'll take to regain it's length, it's likely to be almost full gray. Y'know, it's silly (but it's not)--- One of our/my biggest goals was to get hubby the nice Harley he's always wanted (his bike was stolen) and head to Sturgess in a few years for the first time in his life (it's a lifelong dream of his...and it's one of the dreams that always motivates me to work harder and healthier when our little rock-art-shop is discouraging). How many time he's fantasized "I can't wait to pull up with you and your wonderful new body, in your black leathers, with that gorgous auburn hair tucked up under the helmet, and see the looks on all the guys faces when you pull it off and shake out your hair...while all the other women at your age will like they've been ridden hard and put away wet, you'll be looking 10 years younger and ssssSMOKIN'! It'll be the best week of my life!". Up until three years ago when we got back on the natural health bandwagon, I'd been extremely overweight...and my big hair (and big hooters) were what I had that he "man loved". As I lost the weight, the hooters have shrunk (although they're looking much better than many on some much younger women). My hair though, has gotten longer and more beautiful with each passing pound I lost...and our 'fantasy' was more fun and more realizable with each passing day. Then when all this hit, the weight wouldn't budge (I only have 30-ish pounds to go to goal - 'tis another common symptoms of major adrenal distress) and my hair started falling out in handfuls...and the only "support" I got from the forum...well, as of this moment, this is the first time V,W, or T even publicly cared to think I might actually know what I'm talking about (even with my posting record on CZ standing proud & tall).

Don't hurry back with any response. I've got a full eight hours of juicing to do tomorrow, a new dog to bathe tonight, 10 pendants to make and eBay auctions to get listed on Sunday. I might have time for a quick comment, but I'm basically 'to the wall'.

Blessings,

Unyquity
