the fact remains, you CAN'T explain it, not with your current theory model.

i have studied this issue and come to the obvious conclusion that hundreds of growers over several decades have proven that high brix readings equal insect resistant crops. low brix readings equal crops that attract insects. neither your nor corinthian have shown any evidence to the contrary. yes, you have theories, but none of them explain these growers experience in the real world, thus i reject them as either inaccurate or incomplete any good scientist would do.
