Paul also said that the husband should sacrifice for his wife as Christ sacrificed for the church. Since there is no sacrifice greater then what Christ sacrificed for the church, then there is no sacrifice too great for men to make for their wives.
How do you know that modern Christian men aren't following the covenent to the letter, sacrificing their authority for their wive's benefit. And that their wives are not simply obeying men by accepting that sacrifice?
In marriage(and divorce) the benefit goes to the wife, as it should according to Christianity.
