Re: We all have the holy spirit within us

Saved is a term used to indicate that you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior. Saved does not mean that you are instantly plucked from the earth and dropped into heaven.

you wrote:

Jesus said that you have to be born of the body and of the spirit - your own spirit, not some demon that enters you and causes one to blabber unintelligible gibberish and causes people to roll on the floor, foam at the mouth and pee their pants. That isn't holiness. That is witchcraft.

When Jesus referred to the spirit he meant the Holy Spirit, which comes to live in your heart when you accept Jesus. Jesus explained that he must die in order for the Holy Spirit to come and live in us. He spoke of it often while he was here and there are many references to it in the Bible. This is the Spirit he is speaking of.

We may be created in the image of God but we are not God, nor are we Gods. There is only one God. This is very basic and goes back to the 10 commandments. We may be able to walk with Jesus and strive to be like him but we will never BE him. We should use his sinless life as an example of how to act and think and treat others. Not an example that if we do that we will become a God. That is self worship.
