Re: Distressing

I wasn't implying that you were attacking anyone. Actually, I have felt much the same way about the things you spoke of. The point I was trying to make is that when you are searching for answers, it is so easy to be led astray by seeming miracle cures and quick fixes. Take it from someone who has tons of supplements around. They are all probably good, but no miracles.
Water Fasting is certainly accessable, cheap and effective, but it is also hard work. For most people their body has adapted to the SAD diet and it screams in anguish when denied all the junk food and Sugar it is used to. Also, on every fast I have had emotional issues, spiritual issues, and old hurts, anger and other negative things arise. Its hard to face all those mental demons, while the body is demanding to be fed and Coke, chocolate and something greasy and salty is a sure fix for the misery. That is why I am trying to prepare for my next long fast. It is also why I don't believe in fasting just to lose weight. Fasting is a discipline that affects body, mind and spirit. Even juice fasting or Master Cleanse affects more than just the reading on the bathroom scale.
I'm sorry if you thought I was being critical, I generally agree with you, but have been on both sides of the fence.
