Re: Question: Half Way Meal?

Hi Sara, I had a meal on day 13 of my fast which was 5 days ago and I felt great, but I got a liitle rumbly in the tummy about an hour and a half after I ate and a a bit of diareaha. All in all, I was fine. A few hours after that I had 2 beer, I figured what would the harm be. By that time I think I had digested all of the food and drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea. I got drunk extremely fast, it went straight to my head and I wound up throwing up, just the beer and the bile, the dinner stayed down. I had chicken breast and salad which I had prepared for my family. I see a lot of posts that say you have to come off a fast with juice etc. and that may be the best course. But food didn't seem to give me too much of a problem. I plan on having another meal this sunday. Sunday dinner with my family. I call it the "six days thou shalt rip and tear, the seventh day thou shalt repair plan." That will actally make it 10 days between meals for me since my last meal was on a friday and my next meal will be on a sunday, but I want to be able to have a nice sit down meal with the whole family and that seems to work out the best on Sundays. I take what I need and leave the rest when it comes to advice. What works for one person will not neccesarily work for everyone. The most important thing is figuring out what works for you, I make my own rules and I feel everyone else should do the same. As far as feeling like I'm starting over again. No I don't feel like I'm starting over again, mentaly or physically. I consider this Water Fasting experience to be a journey that began on Jan. 18th that will not end untill I reach my target weight. I refer to today as day 18 of my journey,5 days since my last meal. I have had one meal so far on this journey and even though I plan to have another one on Sunday, if I don't feel like it I won't. If I do, I will. Even people starving in Africa find something to eat once in a while. As far as losing your state of ketosis goes, some how after an extended period of fasting, I think it would take a lot more that 1 meal to convince the body it's time to start burning muscle and even if it did for a day, would that be irreperable harm? Would that be so bad? To me, it's not. That's what I mean about rules and advice. Take what you need and leave the rest. Sandy.
