myths

I see no difference in the origins of the stories in Genesis than those of countless other creation and other myths around the world. Absolutely nothing marks them as special or different or as being the only ones that came from God.

Further, some of the stories are similar to others found elsewhere in the middle east. This is exactly what one would expect from stories spreading verbally. Also, there is the matter of the two creation stories in Genesis. Many (perhaps most, I don't know) biblical scholars agree that they represent two different stories from two different Semitic groups or traditions. For some reason, both were included in the Torah. So which one is true and correct and the absolute word of God?
