Re: FLUKE DRUG PROTOCOL: Praziquantel & Albendazole
Yulia! I'm happy you've made progress. That is good news. My
Tapeworm bits looked like white rice. Maybe what you expelled was a
Tapeworm head? At any rate, better out than in!
I'd definitely keep taking meds for a while until you are sure you are clear. At least one round a month.I quit prematurely and things came back much worse. For me, I started getting really hungry after about 10 days without meds; then when I went back on meds, we had a huge painful battle in my liver for several months. The thing that helped that most was taking praziquantel 25 mg/Kg x 3 on 2 hour intervals, like 8am, 10am and noon along with albendazole at 8 am and 8 pm. Now that I write that, maybe I ought to go back to that dose/schedule. I've been on 1200 mg PRZ/200 mg ALB at 3am9am3pm9pm for nearly 90 days straight now and other than expelling a bunch of flukes a month ago, not much has changed.
In my experience, the labeled dosages were ineffective. I suspect they work much better for simple infections caught early.
Yes, I'm pretty sure I have rounds or something else in addition to the flukes and tapeworm. There seems to be some sort of "lost" worm floating around in my chest. My understanding is that I need to get rid of the flukes first and I'm having trouble with that. I think I need to add some MSM and supplements; possibly DEC and piperazine or levamisole too; unfortunately they aren't available in Thailand, and customs is rough on international mail here, so I've put off ordering things hoping that this continuous treatment will work.
I picked up some Mebendazole the other day and will try it in a few days. I found one report that it helped someone with flukes, and if I have rounds it ought knock them around a bit.
