Re: New to water fasting - Asking for advice

I lost weight via fasting too. And yes weight loss is fine via fasting but a lifestyle change is needed to keep it off.
But you should also think which way you're going to go after losing weight.
You can go calorie restricted or low carb.
The advantage is fasting gives you insulin sensitivity back. However to get that to full effect I suspect you need to drop to ~7-8% BF if male, and 11-12% if female and stay there for a bit. Month or 2. That would lower the Free fatty acids in your plasma and that would result in insulin resistance reduction.
That now means its another hurdle you have thrown in the way of your body to re-gain weight. It helps when you lose the plot a time or 2.
Anyway fasting for weight loss is a bit different than fasting to cleanse or fasting to cure.
You tap into your fat store in a day or 2 and your body runs along happily on the reserve for weeks together. I used to fast 8-20 days and eat 1 big meal and go right back into my next fast.
Thanks.
Srinath.
