Re: New to water fasting - Asking for advice
Adrivan,
Welcome to the water only fasting forum. First, water only fast should not be used as weight loss protocol. You really need a lifestyle change. A good thing is you are only 19 and will learn and adjust faster than a 50 year old.
You did not become 258lbs overnight, all the junk you ate made you fat. If you don't change what you eat post fast, you will gain the weight back. Also junk foods will harm you in other ways, make you diabetic, give you high BP, colon diseases etc.
So far you cannot say you have fasted with water only. You are taking supplements and drank soda. I would not drink sodas even if I was not fasting. Same goes for all processed foods and fast foods, I hate to call them foods. One of the most enervating thing you can do while on a fast. Please educate yourself by reading about fasting.
Best way to get magnesium in your body during a fast is by taking
Epsom Salt baths.
Water only means no teeth brushing with toothpaste, no chewing gum, no partial eating like supplements or so called smart waters with synthetic vitamins. Drink filtered or distilled water. Most bottled water is acidic tap water. Also resting and keeping warm is essential for your body to heal. Warm water helps as well to move the mucus out.
Weight you lost is mostly water weight. Expect to lose 1lb per day.
No one can tell you when to stop fasting, listen to your body. If you can do 30 days that should be good enough since you have never fasted, but it takes a lot of will power.
If you experience vomiting for 3 days or more you should stop fasting, if you have severe chest pains then you should stop fasting, other than that all other symptoms are part of fasting.
If you can't do any of these things then try juice fasting. Keep posting here.
Good wishes.
