I think there should be a better term than "Easy Believism". When my dad hears that term, he says "I thought that is all there was, what is Hard Believism?" :) Of course he knows what it means but he just doesn't like the term and I don't much either. When the Lord revealed himself to me, it was not hard to believe, it was easy!
Now when hard trials come, it can be harder to trust the Lord sometimes. But it shouldn't be if we don't have wrong expectations of what he has promised. He didn't promise everything would be easy. In fact, he promised life would be difficult. But he also promised to never leave us or forsake us, and so that's one of the promises we expect and hold onto.
John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
Deut. 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
So maybe there could be a better term for Easy Believism. You got any? How about false believers or is that too boring. :)
