Then why is faith, trust, and believe usually the same greek word in the bible?


If "Believing is good...it's the first step" how is that possible to come before faith, when without faith the bible says we cannot please God. Nothing we do is considered "good" until we have faith, so because you say believing comes before faith, that can't be something "good" we do, can it?

And are you saying this good thing we do, believing, is what compels God to give us the gift of faith? If faith is given by grace alone which is underserved favor, why would anything good we do such as believing, be required?

Where are the scriptures that say we must do this good thing, believe, before faith can be given?
