On the word "strive", you had reminded me of some debates Vektek and I had over using that word. For it seemed like a natural word to use because I leaned slightly to an arminianism type of view but she leaned slightly to a calvinism one. I don't know if those two words have any meaning to you or not but for us it was a big deal at the time.
It took us many years of debate to find that we were more in agreement than not...but we came to understand that there were many trigger words that caused debate. We also discovered that debate can actually push people beyond what they really believe and not actually what they believe if they are not careful. Much like the poster who jumped in the debate stating that they could post just as much scripture against what my scripture said to prove their point. And they were right, we all can. It is of my opinion that it is because the bible is designed to find perfect balance in what it's trying to teach us. And only due to diligent seeking, prayer and love, will we find it together....or on our own.
If everyone here will agree to not give up on each other while we debate just because we don't agree for the moment...even if it gets really heated, I think we will come to find a closer understanding that God meant for us to have. I have not given up on Trapper even though he gave us all a real shock-jock type introduction to what he believed. He knew full well that bible believing christians would be aghast...that is why I say that. However it caused much fear of the unknown of where he was taking the discussion. I hope and pray that as time goes on we will find more that we do all agree on and also learn better usage of words that may prevent others to stumble over because it means one thing to them and another to you. And the only way we will learn that is to continue to hear what the other believes.
SayWhat, I know this is curezone, so the real reason you came here may be first and foremost for your health. Debate can be very draining and time consuming so I remind everyone to "know" if they are ready and able to debate... because it can get really fast and furious at a split second. We don't want anyone to lose what good they have gained in either their health or their spirituality. Jump in when you feel like it...or suggest topics that you would like to perhaps learn or talk about...but be aware of how hard it can be when we have issues with our health or unresolved issues about our faith. Knowing that we are keeping each other in prayer would be good too.
