Re: Adrenal insufficiency, and many other problems. Looking for hope.

I'm not an expert in nutritional balancing or anorexia.

But my point was that if you do have a psychological issue, then it will always come first.

Many people with AF do not have any root psychological issues, their problems started with some sort of physical trauma or infection, or similar event. In these cases then it is pointless to look into psychological root causes. I'm not of the camp that thinks everything comes from the mind/psyche. If you work at the cleanup crew in fukushima unprotected you're going to get sick, plain and simple, and no counseling will help you.

Some people, though, definitely have experienced psychological trauma, they know it and they freely state it. When the trauma obviously precedes a physical problem then it is foolish not to address the psychological component.

Azndollie did post that some of the ideas came from her mother, so that would probably qualify as a psychological problem to be dealt with.

My opinion is that anorexia is not primarily a physical problem, although mineral imbalances and toxic metals come into play.

It's a very murky area as to which comes first, and usually I swing to the side that toxicity comes firt, but in this case and my experience with a few women who had it, it was clear they had to get some counseling help. One of them did get help and got much better.

Also, as smart as the nutritional balancing program seems to be, there is no way they can have a complete answer for every illness under the sun. They seem to be the flip side of what the fruit people are saying, that they can save everyone no matter what so long as they stick to 'their' program.

If it were as simple as a zinc deficiency, then all you would have to do is load up on zinc, go through some copper detoxification and everything would then be fine. But that doesn't really seem to be the case with anorexics. It looks like a lifelong struggle for many of them, even when the physical problems are under control, much like alcoholism.
I have absolutely no idea why this is, just an observation.

I'm also guessing that natway has/had similar issues and the ocd behavior they display is part of the syndrome.

I am well aware that deficiencies and toxicities can manifest as psychological disorders. But general states of mind such as anxiety, paranoia, mania, are distinctly different than a very specific type of behavior such as anorexia.
