Re: Another useless Doctor AND my boyfriend doesn't believe me
Thanks Nurseashley870
I did try several brands of zinc oxide cream in various strengths: 10%, 16%, 40%.
I found the higher zinc content, the better the cream seemed to act on the scabies. I ended up preferring the Boudreaux's Butt Paste as it seemed to work slightly better than everything else I tried. (Experimented with five brands as I recall.) (I have spent SO much money trying to cure this!!!!!)
Beaudreaux's is the only one that has Peruvian Balsam in it, as well as zinc oxide, which I think is an extra ingredient that is somehow beneficial. I also don't mind the smell, which is a bit like vanilla. A lot of other diaper rash creams are loaded with heavy fragrance, which is truly annoying when wearing it on your skin all day. I don't want to smell like a baby!
What I REALLY like the best and seemed to kill the most, is the version of Boudreaux's that has 40% zinc oxide, their "extra strength" formula. (Their regular formula has 16% which I liked and used before I got the 40% one.)
I think zinc oxide cream partly works because it smothers them.
The only problems are 1. it kills some, not all scabies
2. I began to worry about too much zinc exposure, wearing it constantly every day for for weeks. Cream is supposed to be applied on limited area of the backside only, not all over body.
Currently taking a break from using it. If it actually KILLED all the scabies, I would keep on using it. But it only partially kills, like just about everything else I've tried so far.
The only thing that's probably safe to use constantly is VCO.
Thanks for your thoughts on my boyfriend. I think you are right, it would be best if I quit trying to convince him, and just carried on working to kill these
parasites and heal. He may never grasp what's going on. He only arrived in my life recently so he doesn't understand what previous struggles I've been through with
parasites and my health.
It IS so annoying when he tells me I am being stubborn and not working with the Doctors. MAN I see red when he says that! I would GLADLY work with anyone if they only FREAKING knew what the blazes they were looking at and not fob me off with yet another useless prescription and no diagnosis.
The first dermatologist I saw shrugged and said it was a rash that would go away by itself...in your dreams, you stethoscope-draped dingbat!!!!!!
