Re: Another useless Doctor AND my boyfriend doesn't believe me
Thank you Clew, Albeit and Nurseashley870 for your responses.
Unfortunately where I live I only have a large shower, (previous owner removed tub) and I can't do renos as I just recently moved here. Racking my brain trying to figure out if there's something I can wedge into shower space to act as a tub...is there such a thing as portable bathtub? (In Victorian times I think they had a thing called a hip bathtub-need one of those!)
Meanwhile been thinking I could try
Epsom Salts in a shaker bottle to use as a scrub while showering.
Yes, HOT showers, read someplace scabies do not like temperatures above 120F.
Have been showering using
Bentonite soap followed by sulphur soap for quite a while. It occurs to me maybe this is why I did not have a lot of visible scabies lesions...the bentonite/sulphur seem to inhibit surface mites but not the tunneling sub-dermal ones. (The female lays eggs in the tunnels and the mites hatch out and follow the tunnels-I read somewhere that's why new lesions appear in "rows" or "lines").
I've also used (Organic) Virgin Coconut Oil topically alternating with the Boudreaux's Butt Paste (a diaper rash ointment) for quite a while, over a year I think. (VCO at night while in bed, Boudreaux's during the day as it's heavier.) Again, I found VCO is helpful but it inhibits, does not fully kill. I tried applying several kinds of essential oils mixed in with the VCO, and also sulphur powder. Again, inhibited, but nothing killed all the scabies outright.
Boudreaux's Butt Paste I was fortunately able to buy in quantity as I live not far from the USA border. (I got some very weird looks while loading up my shopping cart though.)
Scabies do not like Boudreax's Butt Paste!!! I think it smothers them-I put it everywhere! Some adults and larvae pop right up out of my skin soon after application. Not all of them though-sadly again it does not seem to reach the tunneling adults. Boudreaux's may explain though why I did not have as many surface lesions as I should have had, considering how bad my die off is.
Essential oils: I was following the suggested 10 drops essential oil per 100ml carrier oil as advised by a herbalist where I purchased the oils. I'm now believe that this ratio is not potent enough.
I started off this latest eradication attempt with a spray bottle of BORAX/ACV solution sprayed directly on in the shower every third day. I got some die off but the borax solution was EXTREMELY painful even after a minute on the skin. How I managed to do it two more times I don't know-desperation, I guess. Personally I would be very, very careful applying borax solution directly to skin and I don't recommend it. As you said, possibly a borax bath would be worth trying. I need a tub!
I'm using borax for laundry as recommended on here and other sites, and hot dryer/long time for drying clothes. All the protocols for containing laundry and keeping person and house clean. Very tiring to keep up.
I did try good old Noxzema too, (lost track at this point of how much money spent buying stuff for skin).
Noxzema feels good (menthol and camphor active ingredients), seemed to inhibit, again not kill all mites though. I was using REALLY a lot applying it everywhere at one point. At the same time, I started having problems with the pupil of one eye constantly dilating and I eventually figured out from one heck of a lot of reading that it was probably from too much CAMPHOR getting into my system. Stopped Noxzema, eye normalized. I think Noxzema is designed for small areas and/or use in small quantities and would be okay to use this way, not slathered all over body in total whiteout.
I also tried QUASSIA, applied by spray AND ingested. Inhibits scabies, again does not kill them all. I think Quassia may work in a H2O "tea" solution to kill pests on houseplants/garden but I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND INGESTING IT or applying topically. Very strong, toxic alkaloid-boy did I get sick from it. Ggrrr.
Thanks for reading all this. I appreciate your replies.
So great to communicate with those who understand.
I'll just have to be patient-maybe I'll be able to convince my boyfriend with a bit more effort.
(Pardon-tend to write too much will try to cut down.)
