Re: Another useless Doctor AND my boyfriend doesn't believe me

Hi jimzilla

Thanks for your encouraging words. It's good to know I can write as much as I want....hey hey *smile* , a bit of brightness in the midst of this horror show.

I've had the city/country experience too. Mostly lived in the city, but when I was a child I often stayed with my grandparents. They lived in a tiny coastal town that was only reachable by weekly ferry. There was a nurse, no doctor; pretty much it was up to you to be prepared and look after yourself. My grandparents were very resourceful, if they didn't have something, would invent a substitute, or go without. They were strong and independent and they lived a long time too. I wonder what they'd think of all the 24hr stores if they could see them now :-)

I just had a second major die-off and this time the scabies really got into my eyelids and below my eyes. They must have gotten po'd that I was killing them. My eyes were swollen slits for past three days until I (hope) managed to get them under control.

I woke up (not that I've been sleeping much from the hideous itching of the die-off) with one eye shut and the other barely open. I had to make and use a lot of saline solution, alternating with VCO; no way could I risk essential oil lotion near my eyes but I did risk a few minutes of a small amount of 16% Boudreaux's, carefully applied to eyelids and under eyes and removed. I know not supposed to have zinc oxide near the eyes but I was very careful. It helped, as did applying VCO gently and patting the excess off. I'm applying VCO at night and hope to get back to the Christopher's eyewash soon...my eyes were just too swollen for the cayenne in it. I know not supposed to overdo VCO for eyes too. Also VCO makes vision temp. blurry, so can't drive.

I appreciate your suggestion about the sleeping bag and sulphur. I did notice once when I had a fever it seemed to inhibit them. I think they like lower body temperature, my guess why some people get them and not others.

I realize I have to keep altering the protocol. The die-off is causing havoc with my skin. More trial and error.

When I got this most recent die-off I had to stop using the sulphur soap. My skin is just too inflamed from all the dead mites and debris for sulphur, it's too drying at least until the current die-off ends. Using the Bentonite soap and the soft bath brush.

I'm still using 10% sulphur and essential oils in my shampoo. The precipipated sulphur arrived and it does seem to be more effective than sublimed sulphur, so thanks for that.

I thought back to other things I've tried over the past few years to eradicate these pests. Wish I'd kept better notes.

I was reading about neem again. At the time I tried it I thought I was allergic, but I was experimenting with Tea Tree oil at the same time,(which I found too toxic). I had neem soap but it may have been something in the soap, not the neem, so I got neem oil and did a large patch test on my arm. Seemed okay. Anything that disrupts their life cycle sounds like a good weapon.

So that's how I got this latest die off started...I applied EO lotion with one hand and about 50% neem to it with the other as an experiment. TOTALLY unprepared for the die-off though which seemed to get going overnight..

I think I'll add some neem to the lotion...maybe if I add a smaller percent, the die off will be more gradual and I'll hopefully lessen the insane die off itching. I haven't really slept for the last 4 nights.

It would be great to cut down on the clove. 6% clove ratio's too "burny" and less than 4% clove alone doesn't seem to be effective, but even at 4% is too hot.

I've been cutting clove to 3% and making up the difference with thyme, a little peppermint and peru balsam which I just got. Not too much peppermint, it's also "hot".
That's what I was using in the lotion when I added 50% neem.

The geranium EO might work but it stunk so badly at the quantity I have to use just couldn't stand it. The neem also reeks but at least the other oils mask it.

When the die off started I had to stop the EO lotion, my skin is in too much distress to put any "hot" lotion on. So I'm using sparse lidocaine aloe vera gel to quell the itching, and then 16% Boudreaux's all over. The Boudreaux's seems to help lift the dead mites. I showered layers of mites off three times today and re-applied the Boudreaux's. Even inside my nose. They're in there too, the b_________s.

Frustrating. It seems to need to be strong enough to kill them, but not too overpowering for the skin. I seem to be getting reasonable die off even though some say they can't be killed with EOs. Takes dedication though-nearly lost my mind applying and re-applying lotions.

But I think one of the very WORST things about them...they prevent rest when you need it most.

BF phoned yesterday. I think I'm starting to convince him. Or it could be I'm so sleep deprived I'm imagining it....!
