Regarding the mode of action of Wondro, the following structure is proposed for the configuration of the sulfurated fatty acid molecule after the trap has been sprung. Two nasty molecules of acetaldehyde have been "captured" and neutralized. Wondro has the advantage of starting and finishing as a biologically neutral molecule. It serves no purpose in the body so that binding to acetaldehyde does not deprive the body of anything essential. It is a sacrificial decoy to prevent acetaldehyde (an immunosuppressive neurotoxin) from gumming up stuff that is critical. It has no deleterious side effects and the end product with acetaldehyde bound to it is discarded along with the rest of the body's waste.
