Re: All belief systems bring judgement.
Hi Skylar, I used the argument for or against vegitarianism as an example of how beliefs can lead to judgement of others. I personally don't have beliefs either way. I prefer to go with my own feelings on these matters and not judge the behaviour of others that feel differently, or the same, for that matter.
It is an emotional area of discussion, when you are talking about the treatment and killing of animals. I agree there are some truely barbaric practices. There is also the argument that plants are living beings and to grow and eat them for food is also causing loss of life and pain, (we don't know if plants feel pain in other ways besides the way we understand pain).
As I said in my original post, this was by no means a personal attack on anyones choice or beliefs, just an observation. I certainly didn't intend to imply anything concerning those who posted in the previous thread. While I understand that you personally don't morally judge others on their choices, if you look at the bigger picture you'll perhaps see that this is rife amoung human beings, and leads to fights, wars etc. This is the point I was trying to make.
For me, these belief systems, and the moral judgements that stem from them, have been a great barrier for growth.
