Re: Water fasting & Coffee? (day 4 of ???)

"To realize the full health benefits of fasting you’d have to go the full distance – 30 days. After day 10 and on through day 30 is when the greatest potential for health benefits is realized. But what if you never make it past day 10 or day 15?"

That is not true. You can benefit fasting 24 to 36 hours a week, and a 7 to 10 days every 3 months. Paul Bragg did this routine faithfully. Stating that he only ate 12 meals a week, and sometimes less if he didn't feel hungry.

You obviously don't understand the concept of why you fast. To give your body a rest from the continual dumping of food into the digestive system. Yes, even coffee, and Stevia requires energy that takes away from the cleansing, and detoxing.  That is the reason you fast in the first place. In addition, every time you complete a fast regardless of the length, you have strengthened the physcological aspect of telling your body, and concious mind that it is you that are at the controls, not some dumb body mass that dictates when you eat, and what you crave. Every fast you complete regardless of the length will make the next fast that much easier because you will have sorted out this phycological battle about who is running the show.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with only doing a 24 hour fast for a few times. Then graduate to a 36 hour fast, and so on. Distilled water only.
