In the past when I've fasted it's been for short periods: 1 day, 3 days, 4 days - at a time - each have consistently been water only. My longest period (water only) was 11 days straight.
I drink on average 32oz to 64oz of water per day whether fasting or not.
This fasting period I am using coffee as I mentioned before with 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup early afternoon with just a few drops of Stevia. To say it's not a water only fast would not be an accurate assessment.
Now I want to clarify something - I'm not planning to continue the coffee on a daily basis. That was just to get me over the 3-day hump when it's probably the most challenging time to get into the cycle of fasting. I plan on having a cup or two only on days when I lack energy or feel hungry. That's been my Achilles’ heel in the past.
