Re: Hi Chrisb1
Hello chirontherainbowbridge,
Long
Water Fasts are fine and have far more benefit than a series of shorter ones, but any mineral/electrolyte deficiency could only occur if the bodies pre-fast diet of many months standing, has been totally inadequate nutritionally.
The lack of bodily mass is no real indicator as to someones level of toxemia, as in my own case, when I undertook a 25 day fast when already underweight; my levels of toxemia were extremely high as evidenced by the elimination symptoms, but I did not experience any ED's: this fast saved my life from Leukemia.
The symptoms Michael has described are no more than the symptoms of internal toxemia, especially the inflammation or "itis" as the Medical profession suffix their diseases: as in arthritis, bursitis, and so on, which are in essence, manifest symptoms of toxemia.
I just came across another poster in the forum (Will_I_Ever_Learn) who has emphasized the importance of the pH balance within the body. Good post.
A western diet is mostly acid-forming (processed and adulterated foods), but the diet I have always advocated and which originates along Natural Hygienic lines is a fruit, vegetable, nuts, seeds, legumes and pulses diet, in the ratio of 80% raw and 20% cooked. This is an alkaline-forming diet and (in my opinion) the healthiest diet available.
It is no trouble really.
I have just elucidated in a post today that
Water Fasting does not cause acidosis; if it did, the symptoms would increase as the fast progresses, where the exact opposite is the case.
