Re: A Mother Asked
When a person feels at peace WITH THE WORLD, they feel that they can continue to do whatever they want regardless of it's merit and consequences (they are unruly, feeling justified in THEIR OWN right). Jesus did not come to bring peace on earth, but a sword (Ephesians 6:17, sword of the spirit) of division between right and wrong (that we should DISTINGUISH between the two, Hebrews 5:14).

If your goal is simply that "OTHERS" may have life and dwell in peace, happiness, and freedom (instead of ALL, the whole world) and disregards what is just and true, then you will be indifferent that so many innocent people die in wars (instead of having "rivers of living water", tears of sorrow, John 7:38).
You should find no comparison between war and the crucifixion of Jesus.
We read the introductory (elementary, Hebrews 6:1) word of God (word of truth, 2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6), but the word that we should LIVE by is not 2000 years old, it is what we HEAR from His spirit when we learn to draw a line between good and evil/wrong (this is the "sword" of THE SPIRIT of God) so that the change from good to evil/wrong is clear and abrupt (with no middle ground, "no variation or shadow").

In the traditional teachings of Christianity, we are not taught "THE DEPTHS OF GOD", you will only find them if your PERSONAL relationship to The Lord really is personal and based on love, not simple faith, but many are taught to walk by faith (IF we choose to live by the spirit,...Galatians 5:16 and 25).
God is not a book, God is not FAITH. In summary, God is LOVE (the greatest of these, 1 Corinthians 13:13).
We should not be UNJUST and only care about ourselves (not be selfISH), but neither should we completely disregard who we are (lest we be disqualified for The Lord's kingdom, for what would we have to offer The Lord if there were no SELF?).

Our relationship/devotion to The Lord should not all be the same as each other's, it should be PERSONAL (with all of our idiosyncracies, habits, shortcomings, etc.) so that God may be everything to each one of us.

The traditional teachings do not even teach The Father's real name. His name in ALL situations is "I am who I am" and as His offspring, we should also know and BE who we are (SELF/conscience) so that we have something of ourselves to offer The Lord (be a LIVING sacrifice), and we must put all things under HIM (not the world) so that God may be EVERYTHING to each one of us.
