No, it's not OK that you were hit, it's not OK for you to hit. It's not OK for you to suffer verbal abuse. It's not OK for you to give verbal abuse.

However, lashing out physically is an end cycle. It's the pinnacle. Verbal can last for years....physical does not usually. Either someone leaves, or someone gets killed.

If I was gender specific, I apologize. I do know there is a major amount of domestic abuse that crosses all lines.

I hope you are far away from that relationship. I hope you are looking for a partner that does not push your buttons like that. But you must be aware of what you are capable of, that you can be pushed to this level. There is anger.

Had I had the chance, I'm not sure I wouldn't have gone after my husband with a machette. But I was too beaten down, and afraid. But seriously, that is how angry I was.
