Re: surgeon advised to go on a water fast

Certainly, and thank you for your advice. Surgeon is a mad german whose father fasts every 10 years to shed the pounds and then slowly puts it all on again. He suggested vitamines and he was concerned that I would need them. I have a huge post op hernia op to be done having had a disasterous op last year where my inferior vena cava was torn (3/4 inch tear) at the end of the op. Fortunately the surgeon noticed it (clever as the op was by keyhole) but he had to cut a huge hole in my abdomen. This has resulted in quite serious nerve and muscle damage to my flank. He wants me to have absolutely no fat on my abdomen so that the operation is easy to conduct, a previous one has failed, and so that there is no strain on the new repair. I am pretty overweight having not been able to exercise for 3 years or more due to illness. I used to be quite fit and weigh 25kg less than I do now. My intention is to try and make sure there is virtually no fat so that the op is almost sub-cutaneous and is easily done. he wants me to build iup to proper food for 3 weeks before the op.

So there is my history.

The worst bit is that I am going to have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Many a girl would be delighted with this but being a tight fisted chap I find it pretty annoying. My trousers are already falling down.

I am not dehydrated as I am peeing clear but I do have a terrible headache.

I will stop the spoonfull of bouillon and the vitamines immediately.
