Re: Blasto and Diet? MY EXPERIENCE
Here’s hoping my experience can help you people. I tested positive to Dientamoeba Fragilis (tested, like you at the Leeds Teaching Hospital)three years ago. I got lots of advice from Jackie’s site (www.badbugs.org) and often wondered if I didn’t have Blasto. So many of the symptoms are the same. I had intermittent diarrhoea, extreme tiredness, depression, brain fog, under weight, &
food sensitivities esp. to dairy, grains, sugar, etc etc. I am the person on Jackie’s site who got their results sent to my vet (vets more clued up on
parasites than doctors) as I had no sympathetic doctor.
I had taken quite a few herbal products (for
parasites and candida) previously with some good results but I was not cured. The diet makes a HUGE difference but with little carbs. I was getting weaker and thinner. It was a complicated juggling act. When I found Jackie’s site I rushed into ordering the meds. I got hold of Iodoquinol and Doxycycline which are the meds for DF. Without doubt, the diarrhoea went BUT and its a big but .... my digestion changed completely and, for the first time in my life I got constipation and an extreme white tongue. Probiotics were useless. The tiredness, the mood swings, brain fog,
food sensitivities were all still there. For a year I struggled on. Then I started to get loose movements once again and foul smelling wind. Nothing like as bad as before but not good.....
To cut a long story short. I went back on the herbal route. I found Godshaer Herbalist (recommended by my
colonics lady). I took the product Wormless. It costs just over £20 with p&p (for the smallest size). You take it for a month. I ended up taking it for 2 months and that was in April and this summer has seen a big difference in my health. My energy has returned even though I haven’t put on much weight. Brain fog has gone, headaches too, I still have
food sensitivities and constipation but my moods are so good and poos smell of nothing. I am really a different person. What can I say? I know it sounds like I am promoting a product but hell....its the only product that I’ve taken that didn’t make me feel like sh..t taking it. I can list all the ingredients if you like. There is something in it which is a slight stimulant.
Two years ago Jackie (badbugs) put many people in touch with me hoping I could help them get meds in the UK. I made a list. Over 12 people emailed me. Some had Blasto. some DF and some both. Many took the medication and still had problems and this was the most alarming thing. Only 2 people wrote to say they were cured and 1 of those took
Clarkia (he had Blasto, Entamoeba Hist. and Crypto.)
You have to make your decision but I would say do the herbal medicine first.
Clarkia is as good as any. Maybe taking anti-
parasite herbs is just something that you should do every six months. I just don’t know . Any questions just ask.
One guy got in touch with me who had been to the “Borody “clinic (the Australian one you mentioned Dr. Thomas Borody, Centre for Digestive Diseases, Sydney). After treatment and after taking his “strong probiotics” very expensive called VSL#3 and human fecal treatment he was still not good. He has spent a lot of money. He had DF and Blasto. and took the triple meds mentioned, Nitazoxinide, Secnidazole & Furazolidone. I should email him again now but he never emails to say he is cured. The London School of Trop.Hygiene and Medicine have guys studying Blasto. The head of Dept. there does not believe it to be pathogenic but the researchers do. There are different strains of Blasto. and some people are asymptomatic despite testing positive. The researchers say that the Borody clinic do not share/publish their findings though I found one paper on the internet.
I am absolutely CONVINCED that you can beat this without spending a fortune. I am suspicious of every product which is why I hesitate before recommending Wormless or any other product. The Godshaer guy is a small herbalist and I have to say he did one thing that I didn’t like. I took his Liver Detox herbs and he published a recommendation from me on his web site which I never gave. He put my name and address as well. These have been removed now but when I questioned him he said he took notes when I was speaking on the phone. Cheeky or what? Take that as a caveat.
