I don’t think cataracts have anything to do with parasites. Cataracts are mainly due to AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-Products) which are hooked up to your eye proteins (known as crystallins). The logical way to get rid of the cataracts is to unhook the AGEs from the crystallins. As I have said before, one of the few agents that can do that is rosmarinic acid (RA). If RA can be made to penetrate a hard lens, then 100% lens transparency would be restored with NO SURGERY. But no commercial eyedrops with rosmarinic acid exist.   [End]

To repeat, vitamin C can generate more AGEs which will worsen the cataract, and glutathione can generate more miniature molecular cages which will trap the AGEs inside and worsen the cataract. I am sure about the quantity of mint (0.015%). Rosmarinic acid (RA) is not very soluble in water and much more soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol. But, I think a water-based eyedrop is safer for the eye than an alcohol-based one, so we should stick with water. As to type of mint, peppermint or spearmint would be OK. Ideally, the mint should be analyzed to measure its RA content. Ideally, the RA content of the final eyedrop should also be determined to make sure we are actually getting some RA. Great idea. I can call the pharmacy I know, I had already spoken to the pharmacist. I don’t know if they’ll do it without a doctor’s prescription though. And I know for sure that they’ll want a full list of ingredients (excipients included). Because when I was going to have my doctor order me Dr Rowen’s drops (which I fortunately didn’t do in the end), he had to write the exact prescription with percentages and everything. Cineraria eyedrops containing an extract of the plant ”cineraria maritima” (alternative name: Dusty Miller) are available from homeopathy stores in the US. There seem to be two versions, one is Dr. Reckeweg and the other one is Schwabe. They are manufactured either in India or Germany, but if they are sold in the US, there will be no problem regarding sterility. I do not know whether they would improve an advanced nuclear cataract with dense colored pigments (AGEs) at the core of the lens. But there seems to be no harm in trying them.   [End]

Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) may cause lens calcification in a person with cataract, because lens calcium is likely to be elevated which risks formation of insoluble calcium phosphate. Boric acid and borax also increase aggregation of lens proteins. And to make sterile eye drops, we should not rely on a ’barefoot herbalist’.
