faith is so misunderstood. it is basically logical sound thinking based upon what the father reveals to you. it is never, ever taking anyones word for anything. it is never, ever blind or taking a leap from logic. its something you have experience with. its something you know. i mean really know like you know if you stick your hand in a pot of boiling water you are likely to pull it back with the skin sloughing off of it.
look at the time peter walked on water. he saw jesus do it and simply followed him without doubting that this couldnt be done. jesus had nothing to do with him walking on water. it was his own faith that did it(as it is with salvation as well). when he let himself slip and look down and doubt the validity of what he was doing, he started going down.
why doesnt someone do this today? why didnt jesus stay in a perpetual state of miracle? well, the things he did do all had a purpose. if he had done more, it would have interfered with free will. that is a no-no. which makes proselytizing a no-no. which makes evangelical christianity a no-no. which makes growing a religion a no-no. and so on.
