Of course!

Certainly he knew he was going to die. He was giving his body as an ultimate sacrifice. He also knew that he would LIVE again and LIVE forever, which is why after his death he returned for 40 days for all to see, and asked, "didn't I tell you?"... Jesus IS alive.
In this way, he paid the way to defeat death, that is exactly how it is written, hence : "death where is your sting?"

It is complete ignorance of the whole premise of atonement to suggest that Jesus commited suicide. Commiting suicide is an act of self-hatred and dispair, carried out by those who have lost all positive perspective. Jesus was not sick and twisted, he was carrying out a plan to take the place of mankind, bring them back to God and open the gates of eternal LIFE.

This is a silly and uninformed discussion if you can not keep to the simplest context.
