Passion. Unbridled passion.

Think of it as religion. People will defend their religion with their lives. People tend to create their own rules, when they don't like what they see. Why else would every major religion have so many sects or denominations? Well, the same thing is true of something as exciting as this Iodine health protocol. We each don't know if the protocol will work until we have tried long enough; because we are individuals. We forget that what works for us may only work for us.
