Re: My 2 Cents

Thank you, Been There, for that most refreshing point of view.

I am a woman, and I must confess, I feel something in me that responds to "the bad boy" type, but it is not becuase I have low self esteem. I do, but that is not it. I think women like strength in men, and sometimes bad boys are the only place we can find it. Nice guys seem to think that in order to be nice, they have to be wimpy. Of course, that is not true, but the art of being masculine has become so jaded by .... whatever... (complicated subject), that many men have no idea what it means to be a man. They are either macho or wimpy...and if we have to chose between those two, many of us choose macho. What we really want is a man who is strong, confident AND capable of being emotionally available. A man who is not all caught up in the BS of thinking we are inferior, but who truly loves women for the fascinating and complicated goddesses that we are and enjoys us without womanizing us. A man who is not afraid of femininty in us or even in himself...and can roll us his sleeves and take out the garbage because it needs to go out and not becuase he is "helping" us.

The macho man might catch my eye...but it is the man described in that Men are from Mars book that makes me tremble and wish I had one.

By the way, I consider myself to be a feminist, albiet one who listens to no one about what that means.
