Re: Again absurd...
Hi Sans Sucre!
Well I cant say I ever got an anti god 'feeling' it was much more subtle then that! But I certainly became hooked on science! Even the transformation from christian to athiest was very subtle, there was no defining moment. Unlike an epiphany one might have in the reverse!
However its very clear to me that by the time I was college age me and most of my friends found the church to be establishment dogma that had no problems with supporting war in Indochina and god became something vague and unreliable!
Science was something we could count on long before what I now consider scientism!
I remember my freshman year reading James A Micheners, "The Source" and how convincing it was that god was a just creation of man, designed only from mans fear of nature, thunder ,lightning, fire, drought, hunger, thirst! And a god for every act of nature!
Biology zoology Comparitive vertibrate anatomy ,philosophy, Marxism, The Communist Manifesto , Chairman Maos little red book etc.etc.etc., These where certainly binding forces promoting atheism ! Religion is the opiate of the masses ,bellowed Mao Tse Tung! I beleive they call it a Liberal Arts education!
Yes I agree, niether religion or
Science have all the answers exactlty the point I am trying to make, but more so to those stewed in the religion of science!
