it sounds like you need a primer on the history of your people. there were vibrant jewish populations all over the roman empire. the jewish population in Greece was several hundred thousand strong and produced some of the best known jewish intellectuals of the time. philo was a jew living in alexandria egypt and was the leader of the large jewish community in that city. he wrote extensivley about philosophy, politics and religion. he popularized the term "logos" which the apostle john used to describe Jesus.

according to one biblical researcher, joseph of arimethea was Jesus' great unlce and owned and ran a shipping business. he believes historical evidence shows Jesus apprenticed with his great uncle and may have travelled to many parts of the roman empire aboard the ships which traded precisous metals like tin and copper.

while jews almost always married other jews, they travelled a great deal and had much business and dealings with people all over the world.
