You got it, Frustrated! And a whole lot of people...mostly women and female children lost their lives because of the misconceptions about witchcraft and what it entails. They posed a threat to patriarchal power structures, especially those of the church, and they got burned...literally! The evil done was on the part of Christian Crusaders during the Inquisition...and the perpetuation of the link between witchcraft and satan. Joan d'Arc was accused of being a witch during her trial and burned at the stake. She was later canonized as a saint by the Catholic church. Go figure!

It is most unfortunate that people still buy into these misconceptions about witchcraft...often supported by religious teaching and glamorized by the media. If they educated themselves about the truth of these matters and the history behind it, they would be outraged by the hypocrisies and the real sources of evil.
