Re: Clarification on Mother Mary - second reply
"Second, the "Hail Mary" thing is not about worshipping Mary, otherwise the Church would not have logically approved the prayer. For if it were about worshipping Mary, it would have been condemned as Collyridian and tossed out into the trash."
In the Hail Mary prayer it says "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,".
If I'm not mistaken, dead people can't pray for us, or save us. Not to sound sacriligious or anything, but Mary was a person, not God. And if dead people can't do anything for us, that includes her.
Jesus Himself said to her, when she went looking for Him, said to her, "I am about my Father's business." In other words, Mary was a conduit for the Messiah, but our emphasis should be on Jesus.
