Re: Vinegar still bad, partial repost
Well, Abraham, I agree with part of your post, but not the other.
First, this vinegar thing is a huge controversy. We're not going to solve it here & that's ok, so now that's just out on the table.
Yes, it's true that there are many species of yeast, also different
parasites present and even individual differences physically and physiologically. So, we may find that different things work. Agreed.
The part I don't agree with is that a person should "try everything," and that is an indication of how open they are. I would disagree on both of those.
It's important to consider careful what we do to our bodies. If I read something that looks new to me and I haven't looked into it, I will absolutely research it first. That is just good sense, and it could save our lives to take that approach. Some advice may be good, but some may not be. Didn't people put butter on burns for, say, I don't know, maybe 1000s of years? Just because other people said so? I'm glad we live in an age where some people (researchers) have the job to figure out what works and what doesn't. I'm also very fortunate to have enough education that most of the time I can figure out what they're talking about. So, why would I then go around trying anything anybody else says, as though I had no choice to go and learn about it first? This would not be taking responsibility for my own health.
This approach is also being open to new information. Being open to it, doesn't mean you ultimately accept it. It means you consider it and look into it. Decision is still yours.
Guess where this approach is getting me? Happily, I'm getting better! At last, I have a doctor who does treat candida successfully. His plan is working. So, given that, would you turn around and do something your doc specifically told you NOT to do? Especially if you kept reading more and found more about why you should NOT?
Perhaps it is working for you, sounds like it. Great! But if I'm getting better, you see that would take away any motivation for doing something that could hurt me. People do die from problems with the colon. It's just plain smart to be careful. I don't have to try everything everyone else does, thankfully, and for now I'm declining this one.
Maybe someday, someone will do the definitive work that will answer the question and end the controversy. If that happens, you may be vindicated! It sure would be a busy day on this board! Until then... maybe we need to accept that people will differ on this.
