Correct me if I'm wrong, from my researching EB when I had it all the literature I saw said that 95% of us have the EB virus in our bodies by the time we are children because it is highly contagious. As long as our immune system stays healthy we'll never even know we have it or have any problems from it because our healthy immune system keeps it in check. When my immune system was wiped out by the candida it allowed the EB virus to become active. I wasn't really aware there was any treatment for it.

My doctor had me do some vitamin IV's and other than that my interpretation of the virus was you just have to ride it out, build your immune system back up and then your immune system will take over and in sense push the virus back dormant.

I think because of the vitamin IV's I was feeling a little better around the 6 week mark and then I relapsed. I know exactly what caused it though, my stupidity. I had developed a cold sore on my lip and I happened to be at my drs and I asked him if it would be alright to take Valtrex to heal it as I had used that in the past on occasion for cold sores and he said yes.
I had the script filled and on the little hand out they give you it said on there not to take if your immune system is compromised. Stupid Me!!! But I really was feeling a lot better at that point and thought it would be OK. Your're supposed to take it for 5 days, by the 4th day my glands swelled back up, fever started and I knew I was screwed.

During the 3 months I spent in bed with it I kept thinking if I can just get past this EB the candida couldn't be that big of deal to get over,BOY WAS I WRONG! The EB was a breeze compared to this candida battle.
