Kinda, yeah. The promises of a restored Israel came after the conquest of Canaan, some of them even after the Babylonian exile. [You gotta understand that I'm partly playing devil's advocate here]. Now the question is, what kinda future restoration was it, literal or spiritual?
I know you know the answer, but for those who don't, here's your clue. Amos 9:11-15 is one such post-conquest promise of restoration. How should we interpret it, literally or spiritually? Well knock me down with a feather if James doesn't apply it to the church in Acts 15: 13-17, and that's just one example of many.
The way Scofield tries to wriggle out of that one in his 'notes' is priceless, and should prove an endless source of merriment to anybody who can appreciate his skills as a contortionist.
