I was just ribbin' ya about the gnashers to lighten up what is otherwise a very stodgy post. There was no intent on my part to draw any particular conclusions from the use of the imagery. On the other hand, refreshed is on record as believing in the possibility of many future ages of grace, which I find much more problematic than gnashing teeth.
But thx for rehearsing the arguments anyway. And yes, Spurgeon was but a fallible giant of the faith. As an infallible dwarf, I could have taught him a thing or two about eschatology.
But seriously, it always surprises me how men of God who are steeped in the Scriptures lose sight of first principles when it comes to their precious earthly kingdom. The NT simply leaves no room for such an age, Rev 20 notwithstanding.
