Re: Truth vs. cessationism

I do get that you were being lighthearted in that statement you made about if you should ditch us because we don't have all the truth. I guess I'm just wanting to understand more of your line of thinking with that statement as well as the rest of your post. Sometimes you aren't as to the point as Ed is. You leave me guessing. lol

What I'm specifically wondering, is if on this forum I'm alone when it comes to seeing groups such as the NAR and Word of Faith (the leaders specifically, as I know some of the followers may just be deceived but come to the truth later as God rescues them) as wolves in sheep's clothing, false prophets, false apostles, etc. that should not be followed, but should be warned against, exposed, and seen truly for what they are, instead of just saying they have errors like everyone else (what Ed says).

I know that the NAR and Word of Faith will teach truthful things here and there. I've seen it myself and I know that's how evil works in general (there has to be truth mixed in or not many would fall for it). That's what I believe that scripture that says "they will have a form of godliness" means, that they will have some truth, and they will appear good in some ways.

All I know is the scriptures heavily warn us of those that would come and lead us astray and teach a different gospel and a different jesus, and many would do it with signs and wonders, and he said NOT to follow these people, but run from them, expose them, and warn others. And the leaders of the NAR and Word of Faith fit the description from everything I have learned and can see.

But what do you think? I know you have been with me in seeing the dangers of these groups and them trying to join with the Catholics, etc. but I'm wanting to know specifically if you see them as wolves, false prophets, false apostles, etc. that the scriptures warn about? Of course I asked Ed this too and he named some anonymous people that he felt were, but not any of the ones we have been discussing from the NAR.

You can just tell me to shut up if you'd rather not answer that, or just ignore me. But curious minds do want to know. lol

And one more thing, I had previously thought you were with me on all that by all kinds of other things you have said before, but I guess these last posts from you in this particular thread that was about all I just said, threw me
off. :)
