Re: Judging with the same standard rather than with 2 separate ones.
"Your good friends Heidi Baker and Randy Clark certainly do not do this and nor do i or many others i know personally who also walk in this. "
Nope, not my good friends. Yours I'm sure.
Randy Clark wrote a book about how Healing is in the Atonement. Do you know what that means? That means that if you are sick or disabled in anyway, you are going against the will of God and you are denying what he did on the cross, and you are suffering for no good reason!
And they all teach this! And they still have sicknesses themselves nevertheless even though they continually pound this over people's heads, shaming them and causing their suffering to be a million times worse because instead of teaching them to trust God no matter what they are going through, and to know He is with them and he will be their strength in the suffering, and that the suffering is doing all the scriptures say it will (we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us), they cause the sick to feel like God is not with them and is not working their suffering for a grand purpose because they are taught it's not his will at all and they are not obeying him by taking authority over their sickness, or not having the faith they need to have, or whatever else they say in pure hypocrisy as they suffer their own illnesses!
The sick don't need lies, false promises, etc. They need hope!
2 Corinthians 4:
16So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
I put up an article recently showing the order Paul wrote his letters and how at the point where he told the Corinthians the gifts of tongues, knowledge, and prophecy would cease, the letters following that no longer talked about these gifts or other signs and wonders, except warnings of the lying signs and wonders to come. He wrote letters of instructions for the church, but no mention of the sign gifts or other signs and wonders? How could that be when all that was of such grand importance? And if it was all of such grand importance, why was
he himself not healed or his friends not healed?
Because the signs and wonders were not of grand importance anymore. They had served their purpose and God gave Paul and the church a much more infinitely grander gift, the full revelation of the mystery of the gospel they had all been waiting for. They had known "in part" before, but now they had the full revelation, or full knowledge (epignosis, a term Paul began to use over and over after the apparent ceasing of the sign gifts).
Of course, I know none of that means anything to you, but it makes things very clear to me.
