Re: Body turns iodide into iodine??? No iodine needed?
I dont think we should consume animal products at all to get any nutrient in a perfect world.
Plants grown on perfect soil would provide all nutrients. And them being 100% organic then would also offer the option of eating them unwashed and get b12 this way.
Vitamin d , should be no problem in the tropics, getting 20-40 mins direct sun per day should build enough vitamin d3.
Even fruits grown on
Iodine rich soil should prolly offer enough
Iodine if not bombed by nowadays pollutants and hallides.
I am actually eating plantbased since 2+ years and 1,5 years ago i ve also had the opinion that whole plant foods can give me all micronutrients (except d3 and b12) thst i need. But unforttunately i was wrong. It was my goal to never take supplements and actually most plant based eating ppl dont need supplements. Not even b12. But we r all different and luve in different surroundings.
Also if kelp for example would work better regarding ithe dosage. Lets say i d have to take way less mg
Iodide to have same effect as with
Lugols i d guess i d still need co factors.
Or maybe not. Who knows. Who has tried.
My diet is actually quite high in magnesium for example and high in selenium but still since studies were made with standard diet ppl i d not rely on my diet to provide all needed micronutrients.
I live in the north of germany. We might have a summer of 2-3 months. The rest is shitty weather. My grandfather used to plant potatoes, strawberries, beans etc. but heck he spent hooooours daily to manage his little field.
One might be able to feed a 3 ppl household with own produce if one does nothing all day but keeping an eye on the field.
Also this climate is not really the best. Except for some berries and apples etc in summer and potatoes, kale , beans etc in fall.
What is one gonna eat the rest of the year.
What r u growing on ur fields? Does it offer enough for u alone or several ppl to only live of that?
R u thinking of taking kelp instead of mined-crystal-iodine now? What do u mean by saying : if i could, i would? U just pretty much said its possible to get all nutrients including
Iodine by natural sources. Why didnt u try it already or did u?
If so, how much did u take? And really no other co nutrients then?
Xcuse typos, i m on the ipad. And xcuse weird writing : english is obviously not my mother tongue 😊
